Fall is here with some days skipping right to Winter. Cooler weather in our house means getting out the Instant Pot, stockpot, and cast iron. It's soup, stew, & comfort food season! Here's a list of some of my favorite recipes to get warmed up with:
With Halloween steadily approaching creepy movies have been on the TV non-stop. While 'Hocus Pocus' is a fun family favorite, one of my favorites is 'Pan's Labyrinth- El Laberinto del Fauno.' It's truly a visually creepy movie with a compelling, well told story. The story takes place in Francoist Spain, where we meet Ofelia. Without giving too much away, Ofelia meets a Faun who gives her three tasks to complete which will give her immortality and return her to her rightful place as a fabled princess. This Halloween cocktail is inspired by her second task— to retrieve an item from the lair of the Pale Man, a child-eating monster with sagging pale pink skin and eyes in the palms of his hands. A truly gruesome and scary visual that has been singed into my brain... perfect for a Halloween cocktail. The Pale Man Cocktail while creepy looking has a sweet bubbly mix of Lychee, Strawberry, Blackberry Ginger Ale, and Vodka.
Here's my Recipe:
